MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING MAY 17, 2012
LEWIS & CLARK BOATHOUSE

Vice President Cindy Wood called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m.
with 10 in attendance:

Gene & Cindy Wood
Sharlotte Worthington
Jean Dryden
Dan & Karen Satterfield
Dan Borgmeyer
Karen House
Darrold & Mimi Jackson

The minutes from the January 19 meeting were approved.  Karen Satterfield
made motion, Karen House seconded.  Motion carried.  (There was no quorum
for the February 16 and March 15 meetings.  The April 19 meeting was cancelled so members could attend the funeral visitation of Phyllis Muresan’s husband).

Jean Dryden gave the treasurer’s report.  Dan Satterfield made motion to
approve,  Sharlotte seconded.  Motion carried.  Jean noted that the bank charges a $15.00 monthly service charge for the Rendezvous account.  After discussion, it was agreed that Jean would ask the bank to waive the fee since SMPS is a nonprofit.  Otherwise, that account should be combined with the general fund account to avoid the fee but still keep separate records for each account. Karen S. made motion, Sharlotte seconded.  Motion carried.

It was reported that the South Main improvement project completion was now
extended to October because of necessary sewer work that was discovered
after the project began.  Additionally, the road project at South Main & River Rd. is also extended to October.

There was discussion regarding the city’s design for the ADA corners along Main Street.  Gene Wood made a motion that Holly view both locations on site and make the selection of the most appropriate choice – colored ribbon concrete with brick at Clark or bright concrete with brick at South Main & Boone’s Lick.  Darrold seconded. Motion carried

It was reported that plans were made for SBD to purchase plants for around the Daniel Boone statue at Water Street but the project was now on hold because the Public Works Dept. needed more information including a maintenance plan.

The junipers that were removed from the barrels along South Main to
transition to the topiaries were also going to be used at the back of the
statue.  It was decided that they would be donated to the Park Dept.
Mimi Jackson made motion, Karen S. seconded.  Motion carried.

Cindy reported that after the City received feedback on their idea of making
traffic on Main Street one way during Christmas Traditions, it was decided that traffic would remain 2 way as is.

There was a short discussion about the upcoming bridge work and tie in to
alternate routes.  A thank you to Sharlotte for working on this with the City
and keeping us informed.

Meeting adjourned at 6:30 p.m.
Submitted by Karen House, recording secretary
